William qualified from Bolton Street College of Technology (now T.U.D.) in 1989. Since then, he has continuously worked in property sales, valuations and lettings. Over the years, he has held roles based in Limerick, Dublin and Cork with various property advisors to include Hanly Donnellan, Lyons Real Estate Alliance, CBRE, IBRC NAMA Unit, Ganly Walters and QRE before joining ERA Downey McCarthy in Cork. His client list includes corporate and public bodies to include the likes of the OPW, Eircom, Meteor, NAMA, all major banks, all major accountancy firms and numerous venture capital funds.

He is a member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. In addition, he achieved a QFA certificate in 2013 and is a RICS Registered Valuer.
